A Stone was Thrown

A stone was thrown
and cracks formed in the pain.
A spider's wed was spun
in a very delicate brain.

A stone was thrown
and the ripples are still felt
beneath piercing eyes of ice
ever threatening to melt.

A stone was thrown,
and as it fell
it ricocheted off the walls
of a never ending well.

Echos of the past,
haunting still!
Memories move like phantoms
that time can't kill.

A stone was thrown,
and it smashed my sky.
As forked lightening
crawled across my mind's eye.

A stone was thrown
from a random place
and I still see the reflection
in a shattered face.
