Poison in Me

Your war is over.

You won when I surrendered
my bleeding heart at your feet.

Nothing compares to the pain
you gave me,

sharp dagger piercing straight through me.

You kept coming back,
with heart in hand
tape over my mouth.

This game is life or death,
no voice to scream out.

You kept me on
this constant trip.

Your poison in me
once had convinced me
that you could cure me.

my ignorance,  you knew so well
you took over and controlled
every part of me.

I drowned out all my senses,
with the sound of this beating
as it echoes through me violently—

My heart causing a riot.

I’m not able to trust myself
in this shattered position.

I flail about, drowning
in these memories.

The hate is turning me into a monster, yet I welcome it.

You drowned me so sweetly,
stole my heart—now that you've gone…

I've come to collect my victims,
no mercy to be shown.

Thanks to you I’m the monster you see in the mirror.

no longer the innocent girl
you stole light from.

My heart is still yours
I  can’t replace it now.

I died that night, but rose up
darker...

I’ll enjoy seeing you suffer
as I take what was once mine.

No longer holding on to those childish memories.

Stop holding the mirror,
and pointing that finger in my direction

What? Have you forgotten?
I’m the creation from your bitter vanity.

Let me smash this mirror…see how it shatters?

Million more pieces to show the real you.

I’m the monster you created,
but you have forgotten the monster
you've hidden inside.
