Challange
I do what the day brings on for the challenge
The challenge of that second, that time in time
What to do for the mind, for the empty space
That was rotted away with pain not erased
How do you erase the pain in lost time, empty space
Take a look in a mirror, feel what your able to see
Pieces of different puzzles placed in what is untold
Always remember the eyes are windows to the soul
Do not stare too deeply in the eyes your trying to feel
A simple look for thoughts of long ago, trying to erase pain
I do not look too long, I don't look to deep
The abyss will see into my eyes, leaving my soul to bleed.

i like the way this poem starts out--it grabbed me with its content.
it's interesting to note, though you quite possibly know, the word "window" actually stems from the term "wind eye." maybe that's not so interesting...
i've honestly never really liked that phrase though, with the eyes being "windows to the soul." it seems over-used to me. and it's not necessarily so much the eyes themselves that convey the emotion in the face, but the space around the eyes with all the muscles of the face reacting to their owner's emotions.
an abyss that sees? maybe it could be your own eyes, or your soul through your eyes, looking at its own reflectiion in the abyss that pierces your soul and bleeds it? well, it's fine as it is at the end, though, just a little suggestion?

Good morning...Thank you for your comment, please let me retort. The darkness was a personal choice for me, a comfort of velvet dark and I felt safe. In my late teens, through channels of demonology led me to the satanic realm. The Abyss can see you-your soul, once you have taken the fall of damned souls it devours your all, your being, your soul. Your soul is no longer yours for eternity. I was spared this, no details on that. It takes 5 facial muscles to show universal emotions. I am 57 now and learning emotions. My eyes, I am told are like black holes in the sky. Just a bit of help to understand. I hope that you have a great day, :) this smile is for you....

I like it... brings back some memory I tried to lock away and pretend did not exist...it is not a great memory but maybe it is for a good reason
