Misunderstandings

Music blaring loud over the speakers
Glint of sharp steel over pale skin
She had not forgiven him for his sins against her
Blood black in night against white

Dreams dreamt in a dark lonely place
She was always one step too late
Never ready to take more disappointment
Lights flicker and flash in her mind

He held the device of metal and powder
An itchy finger to end all thoughts of her
She had betrayed him, yet she denied it all?
Her poison would be the end of him

The coolness pressed against his temple
The hammer pulled black and ready to fire
He laid his head on his soft bed pillow
No more sorrow tonight

Her breathing stopped as the flash and bang sounded
Both lay motionless, far from one another yet bound by spirit
Misunderstanding fit both their fantasies of revenge
Death for no logical reason

For she had not lied, a kiss had been forced upon her
He had left the other to be with her
All in vain, all in vain...
Now they lie under black and white roses...
