Strange Addiction Pt. 2

You were my strange addiction...

As kids, we were warned about the drugs in the streets,
but never the ones with green eyes and a heartbeat.

"They make me feel better about myself"

We were never warned that we could become addicted to a person similar to the way that we could to the strongest narcotic

I was addicted to you.
When I would not speak to you for a short amount of time,
I felt as if I was going through withdraws similar to drugs.

"I need them"

You were like my personal prescription of Vicodin,
You always managed to take all my pain away.

The more that I had you, the more that I felt that I wouldn't be able to live without you.

And without you,
Everything seemed to get worse.

The worst part about being addicted to a person, like being addicted to a drug, is that recovery is the hardest part.
