The Buses of Euphoric Tranquility

The bus crowded with a faint musk
No one wants to be there
Everyone is a shade of grey
They all look so unhappy
Until my eye crosses her sitting by herself
Gold hair as she nervously fidgets
She continuously stares out the window
Except for a quick glance my way
And I want to smile at her
She won't even look me in the eye though
Because she's too busy playing with her hair
Too busy slowly mouthing the words
To the song coming through her headphones
Something like "if love was left to live"
I can't read lips so one can only ad lib
and I realize I'm alone, at least in this moment
Surrounded by people
Counting the trees going by
Writing stories in the condensation on the window
"If you read this message
Don't send help or even wonder who sat here
Just smile and talk to that girl over there"
Everyone needs to breathe
SO you just need to let it all out
But if you scream in here it will stay
Trapped with you
Haunt you forever, even if you open a window
Even if you brush someones shoulder
Feel that faint touch of skin
And cringe away from the kindness of strangers
Yesterdays news sitting under the seat
Tomorrows news sitting around you
Thoughts scrambling under someone talking too loud
We all fit into this tin can
Save a little of the environment
Lose a little sanity
Gain a little humanity
Fall in love a little less, a little more
Find a new art piece drawn on someones face
Beauty, like art should be gazed upon with wonder
But to think that beauty is the only thing that matters
Is for a fool
Cars passing jarring the eyes
Until the little bell rings
And we herd out like cattle to a feeding trough
Work our asses off just to return to this tin can
One day I won't return to it
One day I will hug everyone on it
Remember that girl and just fucking say
"Keep fighting and don't let go of what's important.
Talk to the girl and fly"
Holding my hands to my face I will wash
The dirt of everyday life from my skin
Clean to begin again
Waiting for the bus.....
