Is deceiving ourselves really so bad?

We all want honesty but we all lie

Consumed in your fantasy

We are all just part of a masquerade
We are all just too afraid
Are there wolves under your sheep's skin
I can hear your secrets and dreams howling from within
Our masks and disguise shield us in darkness and lonely secrecy
Trapped in a spiral of euphoria and false ecstasy
We all see deception dominate and authenticity fade
But we all keep dancing to the motion of our masquerade
We all say we care for eachother
But at the end of the day we are thinking of ourselves not the other
I dont want to see what's truly inside of me
