Change

Why did you change?
How did you change?
Did I change you?
Did the world change you?
Did you just give in your morals?

What happened still confuses me.
Questions keep coming
Answers don’t appear.
So I think
Think about the past
The good and the bad
Trying to see what the turning point was

We used to chat together
Long Long before we got together
I was there for you
I cared for you
I knew what you had been through
And you were strong and special

Us getting together made me so happy
It seemed like it was simply right
That our hearts combined to simply make one

I thought all your changes were for the better
I supported you through everything
I wanted you to achieve and was there for you and so supportive

I missed you when you were away
But I thought about our future and became happy
I thought we were meant to last
I thought we were the most meaningful thing in the world

When you called me and told me what you did my heart broke
Literally broke and I fell apart emotionally
The thing that you would never ever do
Had been done
On many different occasions.

Then the change
Justifying it
Blaming me for my anger and depression
You had told me before this was one of the worst things possible
And there was you having done it
Feeling little to no remorse

The change in you over a short period was so dramatic
You had turned cold
Had stopped thinking with your heart
How can anyone change so much so quickly
I still can’t figure it out

I think about my love for you
But then I have to remember that it is the old you that I loved
The loyal sweet you
The you that wanted a life and a family and a future
Not the cold person who treated me like a piece of rubbish after all that time together
I’ll always love the old you and hope that decent person comes back
But in my heart of hearts I think it wont and so I am doing everything I can to move on.
