March Madness and the Barometer of Stuffed Pasta

the Ides bestowed
a Jacket-shedding
early Spring thaw
while infusing it
with hints
of late Winter chill
invigorating the breeze
our dynamic
Bishop of Rome
delightfully fallible as fuck
pretty much admitted
it`s All a lie,
err...metaphor,
triggering ever-unstable Hope
to thrust hints
of vibrant Croci
through piled old snows
their grimy slush
refusing
to melt away
self-generated fate
has finally triggered
this Israelite's
Thrift Gene
I'd come to think
I was adopted
but now I know
that 5,000 years
of hater-induced conservation
DOES course my veins...
either that
or my wallet's light now,
so I`m finally looking for bargains
I delight in my discovery
of superior produce
in barrio farms
at much lower prices
than the sprawling
mid-class mega-markets
desecrating
once fertile lands
of self-generating bounty
the frugality of survival
quite naturally
forces me
into those despised
immense
ecological Army Boot-Prints
their consumer waste
and environmental holocaust
for provisions
like meat Tortellini
which at 79 cents a bag
snapped time and space
back to proper futility
confirming that,
despite the Pontiff`s
refreshing humanity
life is as cheap as ever
