VAMPIRE QUEEN

My red eyes shimmer in the silvermoonlight.
Trees dancing in the shadows,
firebugs burn holes in the night.
Chirping crickets fill the dark with song the
swooping bats play right along.

Tis the night, the dead prowl the land,
Searching for food, searching for fun.
In this beautiful place of mystery and power,
Young beautiful women fall prey to the vampire.
With his honeyed words and dazzling beauty,
He leaves them, raw, bruised, and bloody.

On this night I walk with the dead,
Their morbid presence surrounds me,
In the distance, I see him, all grace, and power,
Cunning beauty.
His midnight black hair flows from his head,
His soulless eyes bring life to the dead.
His perfect skin is like alabaster,
He is all beauty, no sickly pallor.
His ruby lips smirk at me
I stop and stare at the epitome of beauty.

The blood that runs in my veins tempts him
To him I am living sin.
My scent flows to his core
And the beast in him awakens with a furious roar.

His fangs spring out
But I’m not scared
Even if I am to be dinner to the undead.
I watch as he draws near,
In my eyes, lies hope not fear.
He seems to glide and I start to smile
A crystal tear slips from my eye,
He is like poetry personified.

Arms outstretched, I invite him in,
His ivory fangs an inch from my skin.
I show him my neck,
I offer him a drink,
A taste of my sweet warm juices or so he thinks...

MY fangs come out,
I sink them in,
I drink from him until I am filled.
Before me he crumples, turns to dust,
I wipe my jaws and join the rest.

I walk with the dead, they surround me
However, things are not what they seem,
