I had to

some tension cleared
and finally
I fell
deep
dreamless
for so long
yesterday was today
tonight is tomorrow
unless
I can seize
more than
the desperate respite
of helplessness
breath slowly
in silence

in darkness

allow mind
to light up
and bathe me
in mysterious images
of nourishing rest
