its funny how a smile is my cover up
it covers everyhting
my pain
parents
demonic dreams
fucked up mind
childhood
life
scars emotionaly and physcaly
if eyes are the window to the soul
how come my smile hides my past
my life is a horrible place ti venture into
but yet nobody know nor cares because of my cover up
as my life bleeds out
my smile covers it up
im slowly killing my self
but my smile covers the pain
a little girl once asked why did i smile so much
i had no words but why do people have secrets
i must have quit smiling then at least for a split second because i saw fear and sadness in her face
i dont want to hide my life anymore
but yet im scared to show myself to others
as my screams echo in the night

This was damn good. I say that will a powerful voice. You miss have a strong poetic hand. I can relate to you in so many ways. Plastic smiles are easy to hide behind. I spent many years never being truly happy, but always radiating smiles. I hope one day you can fill up that void in you. You're stronger than you'll ever realize.

Great reflective piece on the mask we all have to wear to get through the day to day grind ... be it with school - work - family - friends - coworkers ...

how come my smile hides my past '' Ah.. truly dope line. I really relate to this poem and I understand exactly that hidden pain. My folks never really paid my suffering mind. Even though they can't read my mind, I would've at least hoped they'd take 5 seconds to look at my face and try to find that sparkle in my eyes(the radiant one true happiness brings) pretty sure you know that sparkle I speak of. Great job! & you hit the nail Right on the head w/ this one.
