I Lace Up My Griffey Sneakers..

Grab A Pen Off The Desk And A Pad For My Pocket..

Cause The Poetic Verses Flow Like The Nile Even Though I Try To
Stop It…

All Different Thoughts Never The Same Topic..

Some Thoughts Are Outrageous So I Try And Keep It Logic…

My Friends Starting To Think I’m Psychotic..

Because I’m Begin To Recite My Verses Out Loud..

I Would Say I Didn’t Know I Wasn’t Allowed..

Before I Know It I’m Surrounded By A Crowd..

Asking Me To Spit To This Word Or This Phrase..

Throwing My Mind Off Track Getting It Stuck In A Maze..

Caught Off Guard Now My Mind Sits In A Daze..

I Tell Them I Won’t Do It Cause I Can Go On For Days..

So I Try And Get Back My Mindset While The Crowd Still Stays..

Once Again I Insert My Headphones Into My Ears And Get Back To Work..

Start Filling Up Pages As If I’m Filling Out Paperwork…

As The Crowd Starts To Leave I Decide To Take A Walk..

So Me And Myself Can Talk..

Try To Grasp A Topic Worth Speaking Of…

Maybe Tragedy Maybe Life Maybe Love…

But In My Mind I Know I Already Accomplished Those…

So I Sit Back Down Looking At My Pad To See What Verse Flows..

Perfectly With Another..

Should I Write About My Life Or A Past Lover…

Should I Write About How On September 11th I Almost Lost My Mother..

Should I Write About How I Have One Sister And One Brother..

Or Should I Just Write A Poem That Fits Under The Category Of Other..

After All The Debating And Thinking..

After It All Began To Sink In..

And My Window For Writing Started Shrinking.

It Was Time To Just Forget About A Topic…

Let My Words Flow And Not Try And Stop It..

Just Let Them Write Their Own Poetic Masterpiece..

So As The Words On My Pad Began To Increase..

The Pages In This Pad Began To Decrease..

I Knew This Poem Had To Come To End…

But I Told Myself Not To Worry Cause This Pen Will Touch This Pad Again..
