who are you?

Who are you to come back after all this time. The structures we built to last our eternity have now crumbled under your ignorance. And our bridge you burned, and the ashes have been carried away by the underlying current.
So once more, who are you to come back? When it was you who shed light on my dark soul, only to switch it off like you were just leaving a room. But that room was my heart, and that light was my hope and guidance. Now I wonder blind around the recesses of my desolate memory bank looking for where I went wrong and what to apologize for, when really the reason I can't find anything is because there was nothing to begin with. It was you who led me on, like a pig to the slaughter, a child to a tragic event, or a soldier on a suicide mission. I was left you, when you vowed to never leave. I've found it's pretty ironic that the people who promise never to hurt you end up hurting you the most.
But like any wound, this has healed. The tissue of my black heart has fused itself together again, but it's much more dense than before. So I guess I owe you a thank you, thank you for showing me what love isn't but what lust is.
