Sensex, Dow Jones, Nasdaq getting bigger,
ET, Business Standard, Dalal Street talking about the richer-
The capital market drawing attention to many,
Who knows you may multiply your every single penny!
Numerous financial websites grew,
Mr. Mehta's attention drew-
Even he dreamt of making money,
The market for him was looking sunny.

Our hero relied and invested everything he had-
Initially made wise returns, and not bad.
Being a common man he dreamt too,
He has to grow rich for his daughter two!
Things looked prominent for a while,
The risk knack increased with every winning pile-
The lure could not avert to anything else,
Leverage gripped, habituated capital-quench consequence.

Then came the cloud long told-
Market turned smoky, big daddies sold.
Inflation jumped, dollar bumped,
Oil and gold slumped, long gainers dumped!
"...Don't worry, have faithh in your long term;
Not much downside from here, not much harm",
That's where glued his confident portfolio,
Market felled further, and he reacted low.

Now the index is below half, pausing-
"Will it dip further or shall we start bottom fishing?"
The capital is locked for the period unknown,
What has been earned once has been actually blown!
Mr. Pathetic is by his desktop, sitting draught;
Erstwhile liquidity crunched badly, deadly debtors sought.
Lost and shocked, he carelessly moved the mouse icon-
The homepage read in red, "ilovemypennies.com"

The poem narrates the of late capital market bubble and the recent global meltdown. It is the story of every common man whose wealth is destroyed like a bunch of hay. They had all their hard earned little money, some of them even borrowed money, vaulted by the promised looking financial websites that only catapulted their own profits out of the storm and harassed many. The poem is a satire on Mr. Mehta who went maniac while investing his long earned little money by the mere attempt of a financially committed website called "ilovemy pennies.com".

The poem threatens the suicidal effects of monetary entrapment and morals that money if handled in vain may turn disguised rather than being any blessing. One should use his own brains while investing his own money and should not land into any kind of adventure with it. The hard earned money should be restored for future needs by committing wise investments, and not into any kind of experiments.

However, the poem does not forbid investing into the capital market, but restricts to a ratio of the lump-sum. This one also preaches the principle of "Look before you leap". Monetary committments should be wise consulted, planned in advance, as well as individualistically discretionary.
