copy jam

i heard heels
turned to see if i should turn
god thank you yes
the intern

sunlight waves splashing over
her sandy hair from  the glass
ocean door of light at the end of the hall
up and through her glowing back lit legs

defib my damn heart
i couldn't look away
the second time i'd seen her today
and already knew
i was drowning

"I'm stalking you," she said, "better
hope your can run faster than me"
did i voice the wish to cut off my legs
or only think it

"i'm working on the  restraining order now,"
stumbled in reply,
a bit late as she curved the corner
with no look back and my eyes
locked to the corners of her curves

latter bent over in the copy room
peering in the abyss of a jam
she walked in heels quiet on the carpet
stood behind me and whispered "boo!"

i jerked up,  "jesus you scared me"
"your  restraining orders need work then," she laughed
this time i jumped right in, "no worries, my taser works fine"

before i could get my hands back in the machine
she smiled in retort, " uh  huh,  and this from the
guy jamming the copier with a front to back operation"
and swished out the door

leaving me jammed with my copier
turning knobs, pulling levers, toner on my hands
something rhymes with toner in my pants
thinking i might have to restrain her after all
to get this front to back thing rolling
