I Remember

I remember her,
and that penetrating stare.
The way she used to watch me,
not a care;
in that flat above the shop.

I remember booze,
and talking hours on end,
as we sat smoking with
our friends;
in that flat above the shop.

I remember night,
didn't need to ask her twice,
intoxication paved the way
so enticed;
in that flat above the shop.

I remember skin,
olive toned, rougher than mine.
Pressed against my body,
so divine;
in that flat above the shop.

I remember hair,
swishing wildly as she came,
heard her calling out
my name;
in that flat above the shop.

Sure she pretends she doesn't but;
I remember.
