Love's Fool
I was such an idiot and a fool!
I opened my heart trusting your sweet words.
Never fathomed the pit of despair,
I would fall into without having you there
Who says love is for the birds?
They really must hate these air raiders.
No creature should ever experience such pain,
Being left as wounded animal bleeding and lame
Well now I know what true sorrow reveals -
Loneliness, emptiness, and sadness unmeasured.
If time is the designated healer of all wounds,
It needs to get here fast, I mean real soon!
