missing you

I must have been asleep
for days
between the shadows and the light rays
because I missed
your ruby lips; the way we kissed

and I missed your thighs, wrapped around me
looking up at the stars
as your mascara dripped
and fell to earth
between the heat of our kisses

and when I'm with you
I can feel time
itself, pulse between the sheets
as the heat of your ankles
disappears
between my eyes

till the world becomes
a single grain
of sand

and nothing remains
