The brand new light

In the shadows I use to cower  
awaiting my final hour  
my dark thoughts building higher than any tower  
when I lost all hope  
and death was coming forth  
I began to cry  
in my own blood I lie  
I shut my eyes  
the darkness closing in  
blocking out the darkness with the light deep within  
only then I was able to win  
I won't go under  
listen to my words booming louder than any thunder  
I will never let life kill my spark  
facing my fears in the dark  
never be eaten alive like fish by the shark  
as the angels smile upon me as they play their harps  
the glimer of light from inside begining to shine brighter  
my grasp on life closer and tighter  
my death going further away and slighter  
As I begin to rise I become more mighter  
than before, no longer do I lay on the floor  
living on my knees no more  
as this burden washs away like turles on the shore  
I can barely stand  
but I am a different man  
the dim light was the lending hand  
giving me a new out look on life and a new plan  
I won't be kicking the can  
not today, I will face the fears I ran  
away from,this task I have, I will might that demand  
its out of my own will not someones command  
Now that there is no darkness in my heart  
all my misery and burden has made its final depart  
on this life I can restart  
for I became what I was not  
and I gave all that I got  
but all that can be undone  
for its a new day as light shines from the sun  
I got one thing to say  
if you live in fear everyday  
never let life kill your spark  
because the only way to shine your light is in the dark  
for its a brand new light
