The womb of Silence

Begin at the center, begin with your inner voice
and learn to live
in the echo chamber, that is your mind

Become acquainted
with the voice you hear speaking to you
and do not become frightened
at the prospect
of finding no one at home

If you should encounter silence there
give a knock or two, on the chamber door
and wait

If after a long pause, you should encounter silence again
give way to it
and let the blooming of the silence
push the entire world
away from you

Drink the silence in, like amniotic fluid
and remain in the womb
of your teacher
till it is time again, for your rebirth

And remember, everyone needs a vacation
from time to time

Even the inner voice.
