DELTA - dead upon arrival

Shake me,
The marrow in my bones,
And Drain it
please, sir, take it as your own.
For this is mine, my soul to give,
a life to let die, and a love to let live.

Meet me on the hips of the delta
And there, like fire and ice...
...Kiss my mouth oh constant sea!
Water turned red like painted lips;
A striking colour on black and white.

For I fear although my end suits your beginning
A river, on its course, is lost within you,
And my means for end are not forgiving,
but please forgive a debt of time long past due.

Upon the delta,
Upon the sand,
I seep within you,
But you are always separate of me-
I am simply a woman who could only love
But forever deny a man
