This Useless Heart
Such a useless piece of my soul
As vital to my mortal body it may be
I’d savor the momentous chance
To separate this wretched thing from me
Permit my leave, and I will go away
Down to the edges of a sulfurous hell
Put a razor blade to my arteries
Throw my heart from it’s mutilated shell
Cast it away and let me be cursed
To be one of the undead and unfeeling
With no burden of a weak human heart,
Won’t be broken, won’t need healing
As vital to my mortal body it may be
I’d savor the momentous chance
To separate this wretched thing from me
Permit my leave, and I will go away
Down to the edges of a sulfurous hell
Put a razor blade to my arteries
Throw my heart from it’s mutilated shell
Cast it away and let me be cursed
To be one of the undead and unfeeling
With no burden of a weak human heart,
Won’t be broken, won’t need healing
