Angels and Demons

You followed me into my darkness
giving up the light
because I wasn’t strong enough
to face the battle’s fight

Leaving behind the world
starving themselves of who they are
becoming a society of skeletons
stuck in realities tar

while I’m burning with a fire
that feeds the darkness, feeds me
As you fight the angels seeking my soul
I cling to the demons I’ve let take control

While clinging to you and yours
so you’ll never leave my side
In this darkness I’ve prepared
grateful you’ve always cared

Loved enough to seek me out
in the depths of my nightmares
and let me touch your  shoulders
those of an angel fighting soldier
