Sinner, Saint

sinner
searching for solace in self
selling my soul to satan
each new sunrise
striving for satisfaction in
substance, sex and straying
stained with sin, self-loathing
selfishness and sinister sickness
stuck in a savage system

saint
still sometimes short of the standard
savoring the sympathy of my savior
each new sunrise
straining towards sanctification
seeing sure showering of blessing
salvation solely in systematic
self-reproach, submission and
saving faith in his self-sacrifice
