Goodbye

By the time you read this I'll already be gone,
Don't take it so badly, it's been coming for so long.
Don't blame it on yourself, the one to blame is me,
I brought my destruction, now in this bed I'll sleep.
I carried on so long with malice in my veins,
I tried so hard to kill it, alas, it yet remains.
Endless days were followed by loneliness at night,
feelings of worthlessness have killed my will to fight.
something inside of me, something inside my soul
Led me to this moment and gave me no control.
Perhaps it was just me, and I deny the truth?
And clung instead to thoughts of things restarting new.
Whatever be the case, I'm here now in this place
Trying to find a reason not to put this gauge to face.
But all that come to mind tell me to bite the end,
To close my eyes and squeeze so that I may be cleansed.
But first I chose to write you so that you could know,
My selfishness prevails because I feel alone.
I tried to stick by you to find in me some peace,
But emptiness remains and now will be released.
Please, don't cry for me, you'll only waste your tears,
Instead look for a smile, recall all of the years.
I know it wont be easy to accept that I am gone,
But I'll see you again when YOUR dream comes along.
I have to go now Friend, don't follow me, okay?
Part of me is now in you, so you have to stay.
I hope it is a Girl who turns out just like you,
Who Loves with everything She has, just like you do.
I'm sorry, Oh, I'm so sorry, but the time has come,
Remember I'm inside you now and she contains my love.
