Junkie mating call
[font=Tahoma,Geneva]It's not my good looks
nor my charming personality
it's something else
a noise emitting from me
a distinctive, subtle sound
coming from my cargo shorts
shake, rattle rattle
that pill bottle in my pocket
containing a cluster of pills
the rattle rattle of pill clatter
rattling inside a plastic bottle
shake, rattle and I'll shake it again
your queue to take heed
that signal you seek from men
a sound that can fix your need
so listen up
the bigger the rattle
the better the dose
get yourself ready girl
and do what you do most!
I know you'll do as I please
just as long as I get you high
so don't get off those knees
'til the very last pill
shh, hear that in the distance?
keep quiet and stay still...

Thank you! I appreciate your comment. I suppose that it may be intriguing to those who are not familiar with the druggie lifestyle. Unfortunately, I am all too familiar with it. But, drug abuse is part of my past, and I'm thankful that those drug fueled days are long gone. To me, they're just a bunch of blurry, old memories...I can't even imagine how many of my drug infused escapades are forgotten. But every now and then, one of those memories works its way out from all the goo in my head, and I'll try to write a poem about it. Though, this write is certainly not a verbatim scenario from just one memory!

True...so true..I've never fell that far down but I've seen it..All around town...keeping my distance and morals..With some self respect left..I'll never let myself get to the place your poetic words go....thanks...
And I thank you for your comment. I'm pleased that you never got to that point...I know the painful regrets that addiction causes. Drug addiction is bad enough without having to realize all the pain that a drug abuser's immoralities causes to the lives of everyone affected by addiction.

Ah the rattle of a bottle of pills...its still a trigger. Very honest, I like it.

nice write.. an image you can never wipe away till you find that f'n last bottle.. may the dragon lose it's saddle it's time i learned to stop this ride..

I thank you for the kudos and appreciate your comment...and I wish you well with your efforts to kill the dragon. It is not an easy battle; but it is a battle that is fought and won everyday, everywhere. Support from friends, family and from those in similar situations is the key to a win
