'DIRTY DANCING'

(Inspired by the 1980S movie but set at a wedding dance where the couple are making the moves.)

We’ve practised these moves privately
To unveil to society.
Come out the corner, Baby dear!
You belong with me right here.

You’ve won your place as my wed wife;
Be having the time of your life.
Let me sweep you off your feet
To the sensuous music’s beat.

Raise you high into the air
Where no-one else can touch you there.
Spread out your arms as if to fly,
I won’t drop and leave you to cry.

From one who’ll never let you slip,
I say take ease in my firm grip.
If other couples follow suit,
We’ll take this as a tribute.

Let them call it ‘dirty dancing’,
It’s the soul of our romancing
That will be most fully expressed
In bridal suite when we’ve undressed!
