LOVING IN THE NEW YEAR
(Not autobiographical.)
These are the ingredients of our New Year’s Eve plan:
Champagne, one room, one bed, no clothes, one woman, one man,
Plus one portable TV, to catch the 'Big Ben's “BONG!”
And the fireworks to which we can make love along.
One upon another we comfortably incline,
Ready for the up-and-down to sound of Auld Lang Syne.
With more than one kind of bang we make our New Year start,
Physically fulfilling the desires in each heart.
Skin on skin and loins to loins, underneath the cover
We make the luck that we wish rub off on each other,
Symbolised in the liquid each one brings from within
That, in the supreme moment, flows on the other’s skin.
