Don't Fall Asleep

Darkness pulls
Dragging at me
My mind begging
To be released
Eyes feel heavy
As dreams set in
But I fight them
To my last breath
Fear of what to find
In my sleep
I would rather stay
Fully awake
Nodding off
Head bobbing slightly
Eyes closing
Then popping back open
Laying down my head
On my arm on the table
Just to rest for a moment....

Mind fully consumed
Blackness sets in
No strength to fight
So I give in
Sucked in deep
Shudder and cry
Pain immediately
Pulling tears
From my eyes
Fetal position
Fall to the deck
Cold floor
I shiver
Reality becomes
One with my dreams.....

Running, running
Reaching and running
FALLING!!!!!

Black......

Shudder awake
Crying uncontrollably
My chest does ache.....
