Why I love the Hunt

I was born in the woods, just beyond the meadow
A place where many people go
My father taught me to hunt and feed
He told me how to find the best meat
My teeth are sharp, my hands strong
I know not the difference between right and wrong
I can snap the neck of any animal with one fatal blow
Massive pain these creatures must undergo
For this is not the way my father taught me
A slow kill was far more Godly
Relish the food you have been given
For it is a gift from heaven
And so one night I went out alone
My courage had steadily grown
Through the dark I pranced and danced
A dance of death that caught the glance
Of one creature, more weak than the rest
It fled in fear, it tried its best
But I knew the woods all too well
For this is the home in which I dwell
It led a merry chase
But I grew tired and began to make haste
I jumped from the black and heard her scream
A shriek of fear, the perfect scene
I love this part, when they are captivated by fear
Shock holds their body still as the night air
My fangs moisten, my blood curdles
I am ready to feed, but I move like a turtle
Slowly and surely I begin to attack my prey
As it fights back, I feel great
The struggle is an opium to my soul
I break it down, until it begins to crawl
My play is done, I can finally eat
I sink my rotten teeth into its fresh meat
I tear flesh and blood from its bone
The cries of pain make me feel at home
I work my way up its back
Clawing and biting, what a nice snack
To its chest, I finally rest
My hands dig deep, I feel a thump
A heart, fresh and pure
Lay in my hand, my only cure
Its warmth caresses the tip of my tongue,
It is mine to devour, no song is sung
For when I eat its heart, only silence is heard
Humans are so tasty, when afraid
Especially when they have hope that they will be saved
