Phoenix

I never wanted to be a Dr.
   until I saw someone die
I didn't believe in the Angels
 until I wanted to fly
I couldn't imagine disaster
until it fell from the sky
I never dreamed it would end
    until I started to cry

It only hurts
   cause
  I hurt you
still caught in
  your perfume
A perfect example
  of
     my lyfe
without virtue

Broken-down & empty
   a hollow tower prevails
sifting through
 the bones
      to find a soul
that's not for sale
 These tears
they fall for reasons
Uncontrolled with disregard
Changing with the seasons
to do more good than harm
   Though
I find my heart unwilling
  to overcome the silent frost
I rush into the fire
with hopes of getting lost
Captivated by the burn
  I can only
focus on the scars
Rising from the ashes
as a modern work of art...
