Not rich...
Not rolling in money
So we could not afford the name brand clothes
Living bummy! 
Know I couldn't fit into the children's cliques
So they'd judge me
Not to mention...
We were struggling getting grit for our tummys
But they ain't know
Safe to say...
That we were struggling on the low
So in public we'd smile but it was different at my home
Everyday
No you shouldn't go to bed and never pray
And respect to my mama...
Now she was there in every way
Hard times got worse! 
Now barely holding on to faith
Not a dime in her purse...
But there are bills she needs to pay! 
They're late! 
God's grace is what kept us protected
I had a praying grandmother...
If she left it'd be hectic
I thank God everyday because he's opened my eyes
If you don't know me personally
All they know is a lie
And they even have the arrogance to judge me too...
When they don't know what the hell I've been through! 
Born amongst the have nots
It was tough as a child
Stayed prayed up...
Even though it's rough keep a smile
True
Everybody talks
Few actually knew us...
We would just get settled in good and were moving
Don't support me? 
I don't care and love the people who do! 
And you should let your action speak first if you are true
Now they told me if I'd change I'd be promised a spot! 
But I'd never ever try to be something I'm not
They said it wasn't popular...
Strictly a poet? 
But I don't care about an image
See I live for the Lord! 
Look...
Satan persecutes those who follow the Cross
I promise if you chose God all those friends will get lost! 
You won't have to do a thing! 
I don't write to impress...
I am writing for a change and I write to express
Said I'd rather be myself! 
Let the rest of them laugh
And even though they didn't know me...
They respected my craft
See another even told me I'm the best in a while
Said no and not close! 
And rejected with smiles but still...

I used to overthink until my mind hurt! 
But God changed me 
He can do the same for you! 
Just trust in Him...
