What I Saw Today In A Bus

What I saw today in a bus.

Leave me be to nurse my wound,
To enjoy my pain, while swaying to loves awful tune.
“Love” a word so powerful should never exist.
Is “love” your name, do you betray me with a kiss?
Away from me, said I to love, you will I never miss.
For I seek peace, a life of sanity, and forever bliss.

Yet love clung to my heart, for dear life.
She, the cause of my sorrow, the single cause of my eternal strife.
Forget me, forget that I exist.
Forget all about me, but this.
I need you as much as fire needs water, oxygen needs to breath or God needs man.
So leave me alone, let go of my heart and my hand.

Buy me a gun, am about to do something really stupid.
I know she’ll be back, but am planning to kill cupid.
Look at my hands, crimson with undeniable guilt.
Writing your own love story, as if anyone cares to read that filth.
Torn pictures, broken heart and a few poems are all I’ve got to show for my effort.
Evaluate what I did wrong and write a full report.

Looking at the picture you would think I’ve finally gone mad.
But I gave up everything for love, so love was all I had.
But what if I told you that what you saw, was just small part of the bigger picture.
That love isn’t always sweet but is most times bitter.
What if the key to sanity lies deep within being utterly insain,
That is to say, “the key to being truly happy is to suffer great pain”.

Clearer still, a happy life is giving all the love you can muster up.
To a person who doesn’t even care if one morning you don’t get up.
But they tell you to keep loving “love”, don’t give up.
One day love will fall for you, and wont get up.
Do you believe this?
It all ends with the realization, that love has the coldest kiss.
Ask me to tell you the story of a broken heart,
The story of how love ended for me before its great start.

Of how like you I trusted love, and lost.
Of how I alone paid the cost.
Yet I urge you, don’t give up on love until you must.
because for me these crazy thought happened last night while on a bus.

I must note that this poem wasn't written by me. This was written by my friend Jeremy Canul.
He's a shy soul and doesn't really feel confident enough to share his talent. Maybe with this I change his mind.
