Sympathy

He waged a war with the world,
somehow he really wants to change it.
Those things that left him feeling cold,
tells him to be so cynical.
Can we blame him for the way that he feels?
Somehow we're very much like him.
Can you see him in you?
Can you see him?

She said goodbye to the world,
she's a girl with a dumb-blonde hair-do.
Took a lot of pills, did the works,
so sick and tired of being lonely.
Can we blame her for the way that she feels?
Somehow we're very much like her.
Have you seen her?

She never lived the life of a girl,
no school and a chance to be lovely.
Spend a lot of days in a hole,
living with fear in a cold dark alley.
Can we blame her for the way that she feels?
Somehow we're very much like her.
Have you seen her?

Sometimes I wonder,
how it all would be,
if we could see all the bitter yous and mes.

Can you blame us for the way that we feel?
Somehow you're very much like us.
Come and see us.

Walk with me between the worlds,
and maybe there you'll see,
a thing called sympathy for you and me,
then you'll see us in you.
Can you see now?
