Image for the poem Merry Christmas Darling

Merry Christmas Darling

The sun shines into my eyes
through my open window
tearing eyes by the light
the cold wind blows
you shiver by a fire
Am I in your thoughts?

Walking on the beach
the sand on my toes
salty air ruffling my hair
as you bundle up
your puppy with rugs
asleep by the fireside

the rain fell
in heavy torrents
thinking of floods now
as the snow fell
on your eaves
winter after the fall

Merry Christmas Darling
such a beautiful sight
snow on pine trees
while the green leaves
they simply rustles
under my tropical sky.
