I Can Learn To Wait
You are all the stars colliding,
Bursting open in my night sky
Hope – a million times brighter than everlasting
Dancing over my skin, into my skin
Wrapping me up in contrasting
Declarations.
I have locked your correspondences
In the stop watch of my heart
Where the ticking
Will help me keep track of the beat
You left behind
These worlds in my eyes are waiting
For the worlds existing in yours,
Dizzying orbits
Left to wonder city ‘scapes
Until the justice of that being
Complements my own
Then… maybe I can say ‘I love you’

I think that second stanza means there's already been some complimenting :) maybe when you do say it, you could show him that stanza. Just so he might understand.

I love this poem as a whole but the second part where you talk about the stop watch in your heart was my favorite line. another outstanding piece of work.

You don't take the important things lightly. Patience is your greatest ally. I am the process of instructing myself in its use at this very moment, with results both positive & negative. I won't give you the whole 'self-love' rigmarole, because I've always detected that you are fully aware of your self-worth. Caution is paramount, so space gives us a place to roam. I suppose it's best to enjoy the drive with a watchful eye. Always glad to see new works from you. Dreamy yet grounded. Great writing.
