In Love With The Idea
Lonely nights,
Not a soul to talk to.
Feelings left unsaid,
Memories drifting away.
Want someone to share everything with,
But always get left with nothing.
Don't know whether to cross the line,
One side hurt and the other side is numb.
I guess I'm just in love with the idea of being in love,
In love with the idea of making all of the loneliness fade away.
It wouldn't last anyways,
You'll just be left broken worse than before.
So cheers to the ones who are in love with the idea of being in love,
& cheers to the ones who accepted that love is fake.

I hate that you're right, but I don't hate this poem. Its honest, its truthful, but strangely it sounds and bellows from the voice of a prose writer, seeing the truth rather than believing in the dream. Poets are idealists, Prose Writers are realists. And you are being all to real, yet for some reason I respect that. :).

Love is the word we often use to cover the real intentions...all selfish :)

nice duality here- the "I" telling of the writer's own experiences and the "you'll" presenting a lesson to others
