Stiches... and Seams

Today..

I untied the knots
inside me...
and I...
unfolded.. all my pain...

I smoothed out all my edges,
and soothed  the strands of me
that went insane...


I tore out the lining
of my mind...
and mended the wounds
from my past...

I put patches of salve
upon my heart...
Hoping that this time my  
my soothing stiches would last

I took my favorite quotes
and my favorite chicken soups
verses...
Then sewed them
inside my souls lining
to reverse all of my curses

I struggled
against the core of me
all tangled and knotted with thread...

So I took out my spiritual clippers
and started snipping away at my
deppression & dread...

Once I was through my messy maze
Of saddness & self loathing...

I saw that what was left of me...
was a beautiful ... piece of clothing

My inseams finally lined up...
with everything in its place...

Finally I had a real smile
Instead of the ones
I learned to sew onto my face

I looked at all my tattered parts...
snipped ends and shattered faith...

Then I gathered them all together..
For no part of me would I waste

I made myself a remembrance blanket
Then
covered myself with the armour
of all I had been through

Showing the world
I'm still in one piece
No longer am I broken in two

even though I still remember
all the things that once gave me pain...

I also remembered that I am strong...
and I never forgot my name

But in case I ever forgot it..
and my spirit once again starts whining..
All I have to do ...
Is look for my name...

Inside my soul's lining...
