Foundations
That path you chose to walk.
Doesn’t seem so bright now
But glistens as you warm up to its boardwalks.
Yet the question is how…
…does one reach these milestones?
When you’re fighting a war within,
But you’re losing because you feel like you’re alone.
Look forward with that smile of confidence.
That negativity of an earthquake
Shakes your foundations.
Trust that structure you’ve grown on to prevail.
Your mind is counting on you to make
The best of even the adverse revelations,
So your heart doesn’t give out and fail.
Breathing heavy, with a pale impression
On your jaded face.
Lose the doubtfulness
You know why you’re here, this is your place.
Boy, just keep at it.
I promise you won’t regress.
You’ll shine like a super nova reaping benefits
Of your unforgotten progress.
That downplay of a hurricane
Shakes your foundations.
Trust that structure you’ve grown on for safety.
Beaten down, but you’ll rebound and dominate.
They’ll no longer look down on you in misinterpretation.
Burning ember… I’m a firm believer
That you’ll never burn out.
Blow your dreams over
It, to let it grow into flames of an achiever
It has a radiant glow you’ll never disremember.

Your words invigorate my soul, Rain. I smile at the sight of them. Much poetic love to you Xo
I concur with RainC, your words just seared through my soul. I love these two parts particularly:
"Boy, just keep at it.
I promise you won’t regress.
You’ll shine like a super nova reaping benefits
Of your unforgotten progress."
This spoke to me a lot because often times when people tell us that we won't regret doing something there's, at least for me, sometimes a slimmer of doubt, but within those words... the way you put it, 'shining like a super nova', i visualized how bright that is and gave me a surge of confidence to actually become the ideal that i want to be. It also made me tell myself that it's worth looking dumb and stupid for certain things knowing that you'll obtain rewards most people never obtain for fear of those very reasons. It also gave me strength to workout right now (no pun intended) cuz im just like maaaaaan results aren't immediate and this is boring haha!
I also liked the last stanza a lot:

Wow I'm glad you loved this poem Abisade!
It's comments like yours that drive me to write more and more. Sometimes we need reminders of why we do what we do and why we shouldn't quit. Motivation if you will. This was like motivation to myself when I wrote this. I really appreciate your review. Thanks Abisade!

It's always nice to see that someone can relate to a poem I've written in one way or another.
If you don't mind me asking. What has brought about your fixation with the things you speak of?
I find it good to prescribe myself a dose of optimism every once and a while to keep pushing myself forward.
Thank you Daraja. I love experimenting with writing and the normal writing scheme gets tiresome so I like to mix things up.
