Contradictions

I am a contradiction
Full of sin and innocence
Not to be confused
With naïveness.
I do not lack judgement,
Experience or wisdom.

I believe in the goodness
Of people and am betrayed
Time and again.
I wish I could become a
Cold cynic and keep my
Heart guarded.

It is impossible, you see.
I have gained insight into
Myself through hard and
Harsh lessons and yet I
Continue to believe in you.
