Leap of faith

i stand on the edge of the abyss
Below me are shattered fragments of my life...
The vulnerable girl,the wayward teen,the young mum
The broken promises,the mistakes,the loves,the losses
the heartaches and nightmares...
Cast recklessly into the darkness,along with my
hopes and dreams.
And i hear Your voice...

i sway hypnotically on the brink,
reflecting on what brought me to this point,
the strength i managed to find,
even when i was battered and bruised,
suffocated and scared,alone in the dark.

i contemplate turning around and running,
but i know it's no longer an option.
There's nowhere to go except forwards...

i look up and see You on the other side.
It's such a long way away,
but just one step would make it
Every fibre of my body screams...NO,don't do it!
But my heart screams louder...YES!

i close my eyes and step off the precipice...
happy to be falling...
safe in the knowledge that You'll catch me...
