Hallow's Night
Deafening silence radiating around
Lost I’ve become in this quiet night
Tingles creeping all over, my arms first to my tired toes
Heart pounding; I hear it first, feel it second
Emptiness except these glowing eyes and smiles
Brightly lit through the hollow cave of a child’s pumpkin
It’s evil eyes staring at me from every angle as I move
Living for this season of evil thrills and frightened screams
Tricks and candy teasing the palates and the mind
The children have left for home as I search for what I’ve seem to have lost
To dream not of sugar plums dancing but of spirits and the undead
Monsters breaking through the doorway to hell under the bed
Distant memories or maybe dreams lingering
Wafting in the air like misty breath
And shadowy ghosts watching and waiting to snatch
On the dark horizon they call to me their siren song claiming to have what I seek
But these memories or dreams whatever they may be
They are untouchable-lost and forgotten
Deafened silence interrupted by the brisk breeze
Whispering words I cannot hear
As I try to remember when I’ve been here before
Seen this place in my dreams, my memories, my life
Searching for something I do not know
Deep love I must’ve known once
Seeking me out, begging for my hand
Unseen to me now but on the verge
The tingles tingling stronger now
Heart pounding but not my own
Just a touch out of beat and I see her face
Of my Babe lost to me before on the last Hallow night
Lost I’ve become in this quiet night
Tingles creeping all over, my arms first to my tired toes
Heart pounding; I hear it first, feel it second
Emptiness except these glowing eyes and smiles
Brightly lit through the hollow cave of a child’s pumpkin
It’s evil eyes staring at me from every angle as I move
