Image for the poem Just A Dream

Just A Dream

A calming dream it was
Crystal tinkling high and clear
Cutting through the midnight air
Sounds of singing as heavenly choir

I sat still by the flowing river
Bubbling by on its pebbly bed
Flowing swiftly to its goal
To the sea, for there, its destiny

I wandered on in surreal terrain
To the lake where hyacinth grew
Looking towards the horizon
I thought I saw my beloved

I woke from heavy slumber
With a smile on my lips
The lullaby of nature
Urging me back to sleep.
