Two birds reborn

When you left me,
 
I was a bird with broken wings
 
But now my wings are healed
 
I am no longer blinded by my tears
 
I have learned to see the light
 
I will break this darkness of night with flight
 
I have learned to forget you, yet venerate you
 
When you weren't there I learned to be alone
 
When you weren't there I learned to sleep and dream
 
I forgot about the rainy days
 
I forgot about the snowy days
 
I forgot about the warm nights together
 
I learned to ignore them as you ignored my love
 
But I also learned that life can have new meaning
 
A new reason to open my heart
 
New reason to warm my soul, so cold for so long
 
I found a new reason to love
 
In another bird with broken wings
 
A bird that also knows sadness and happiness
 
A bird with a kind heart and good soul
 
We are reborn together, taking wing
 
Like the phoenix did
