DEEP WATERS/SHALLOW SOULS
Dear April,
I'm about to give you my heart
Squeeze it dry - tear it in half
Let me see the broken shards
Just embrace my frail heart
Never to be put back together again
Hold my hand; I'll be here with you forever
I am filled with trepidation: Make it fade and I throw away everything
Everything that binds me to this world
The key is just out of reach
Life is out of reach
My dreams no longer matter; no turning back
Dear April - I am yours
Falling hopelessly into dissolution
I won't remain tethered to this futility
The words spin in my head:
“You fear me, but I cannot discern what the greater fear is:
Losing me forever, or loving me without pause”
But as the sun disappears; a spark of light is found in the dark
The night sky speak life into my lungs
I cry, I scream - yet the silence seems to swallow it all
The pain I've buried deep down in the core of my being is waking up again
I can't reach the key
So close, yet so far away
The tree's whispers are torture - they jeer at me
Their hissing is just a reminder of my indiscretions
Hold my hand; I'll be here with you forever
The key is just out of reach
Life is out of reach

This poem is about Richard Sumner, a man who died after handcuffing himself to a tree after throwing away the key. He changed his mind later.. but the key was out of reach.
What do you think of this? Again - I am from Sweden, but I try my best! Thank you SO much for reading, please feel free to leave a comment and/or a like! God bless
