Hostage
Hostage
She plays the lonely and spurned
lover left at the alter
of an empty church
Sadly reclining on the floor
picking up yesterday’s rice
thrown onto lovers
by well-wishers
their divine gifts
were each other
shimmering tears
that never made the floor
clutching hands
that never touches hearts
sighs that nobody hear
she is a lovely spirit
waiting for her love
promises of endless deep love
she waits still
He sleeps Unaware
In a foreign
Field.
