My Crimson Tide

Have you ever had a dream you could fly?
Lifting off the grass
soaring the heavens
without a care in the world...

That is how i feel this very moment
floating high up against the white roof
I look down at the body that once was mine
i feel nothing

I do wonder,
did they even notice,
was i invisible?
did anyone care...

Were my pleas and tears unseen,
or did they not want to see?
The answers i shall never know
for my questions will burn with me

My chapter has ended,
the book of the mundane complete
A burden no longer, their nightmare has ended
Never again will my eyes send shivers down a spine

Like a low budget Broadway Musical,
not many seats filled
those present shake their heads
and shunned me as the curtains close

No flowers or standing ovation did i receive
The musty old curtains closed upon my life,
Perhaps my final performance will earn me a limp flower
or a well deserved tear?

I have nothing left, the final chapter has closed,
my mundane book of this life has ended,
my eyes shine brightly as i stare at
MY CRIMSON TIDE
