Void of Serenity

I'm not living.
Just floating on the
Frigid surface of awareness.

Void of the Warmth that comes with Hope.

My attempts to grasp Hope,
Which remains evanescent
Among the last of the Living,
Are hopeless.

For the Terror has graced me with
Every essence of its belligerence.

The portal to Defeat
Opens before me,
The Heavens too late to
Revive what's left.

The Terror brings with it
The wretched scent of decomposing souls.
It's submissive tides tower above me,
Ready to strike.

Emptiness arrives just in time.
I become fraught with nothing,
Emptied of fear.
Promoting my misinformed eagerness.

The tides tauntingly fall back
As my laughter yearns for its engulfment.

Take me whole.
Rip me of this hunger
For survival.

The silent Darkness
Emerges from the Abyss,
Capturing my heart with a gaze.

Having never felt the actual presses of the Darkness,
My heart smolders, the heat erupting in my center
Instantly feeds on my undiscovered weakness.
I gasp for Relief of the acidic conditions,
Unknowingly inviting the Misery.

The water proceeding violently
Down my airway invokes suffocation.
Every mouthful laden with the charred ashes of my heart,
Burns carelessly throughout my lungs.

The Fear returns.
Though I struggle for Relief,
It plunges recklessly across every
Thought and memory once barren of the
Empty thoughts and vile dreams.

With a flex of its cold fingers,
Fear strips my every thought of meaning.

Terror buries me with nothing but the
Empty shell I reside in.

Misery soon accompanies me,
It's tresses soothing me into a state of volatile grief.

Darkness infuses me with
Bitter, cold, serenity.

Emptiness empties
Into the empty pit of my worth.
Emptying me of my worthless life.

Void of hope.


Seek happiness and misery will find you.
