Missed

Missing you was never easy
Or required much effort

Your legacy a dagger in my chest
And a buzz inside my skull

Made me writhe in torment
Drove me mad when the moon rose

The edges of my lacerations
Everlastingly red and raw

Your spirit hung around
A mere single ghost amongst my collection

Equivalent to a persistent plague
I never thought I'd be clean of you

But I suppose one day, you faded
Taking the ache with you

When the scene faded to black
And all the credits were taken

I was alone, silent
And every trace of you had vanished
